The Girls Varsity Basketball team faced off against Bishop Montgomery on Friday, December 19, in a dominant 44-23 victory.
The starting lineup included Lucia Khamenia ’29, who played a significant role throughout the whole game. On court, she was extremely active, demonstrating great interior defense, as well as impressive scoring, especially in the second half.
“During Friday’s game, we really focused on our defense as a team. We were vocal, always moving, and always rebounded with a constant effort. We played as a team helping each other out and communicating on the court,” Khamenia said. “On the offensive side we were moving the ball and always looking for an open look.”
In the first half, Khamenia took on a key role in defense. During the third quarter, she finished three lay-ups, scoring six points for the team. In the last quarter, Khamenia started off strong, making two free throws, earning four points, and finished with a rebound, an additional two points.
Throughout the entire game, the Wolverines worked well together, displaying both strong offensive and defensive movement, and kept a commanding lead from start to finish against the Knights.
