The Jacobson Cup, held during WIN on Wednesday, April 15th, featured exciting activities such as obstacle courses, three-legged races, human games, and other fun team challenges where students competed for House points.
Many students showed off their house pride by wearing their colors: green for Polecats, purple for Otters, orange for Badgers, and yellow for Ferrets. Each house is divided from different advisory groups, helping students build community and compete together under a shared group. There was a wide variety of activities across campus, so everyone had the opportunity to participate in something they enjoyed.
On the field, students faced each other off in thrilling obstacle courses, three-legged races, potato sack races, and human games like human foosball and human billiards. The bounce house basketball and volleyball brought energy throughout the school.
“Playing bounce house basketball was such an uplifting and exciting activity,” Dylan Baker ’31 said.
At the Upper Courts, students competed in 3-on-3 basketball, while the library held competitions such as crossword puzzles, Sudoku, trivia, and a puzzle challenge which also gave students the activity to win points for their houses.
In the Commons, students enjoyed activities like bubbles and chalk drawing. The SQUID Competition, held during WIN 3, was the event where groups had the greatest opportunity to earn points. Each house worked collectively to clean and decorate their assigned tables which were judged by staff. There were up to 200 points available to win.
There wasn’t a need to sign up for activities beforehand, making it easy for the whole middle school to participate.
