Coming into Monday, May 4th, the Frosh baseball team had a record of 17-5, having dropped their last two games in heartbreakers to the Chaminade Eagles. The Wolverines came into this game against Crespi with it all to play for. With this being the last series of the season, a two game series, the frosh team hopes to make a last push to show everyone why they are the best of the best. And they did just that on Monday evening, defeating Crespi by a score of 10-6.
Jake Henderson ’28 contributed into this win, as the sophmore finished the game with multiple hits and the save on the mound, throwing 2.1 innings and striking out four hitters in the process.
William LaBombard ’28 got the start on the mound, throwing 4.2 innings of clean baseball, allowing just one earned run in the process. Ethan Siegel ’29 attributed one hit at the plate, a double, and made an outstanding throw from right field. “That’s what happens when you put a pitcher in the outfield,” Siegel said.
Although it has been a rocky season with many injuries and setbacks, the Frosh baseball team heads into Wednesday’s game against Crespi with an 18-5 record this season, hoping to finish it off strong and complete one of the strongest seasons from the team in many years.
