Students celebrated the holiday season during the week of Dec. 15 with a series of winter-themed activities run by the Student Council. The week also provided an opportunity for students to unwind before exams and connect outside of class.
“These activities aimed to build community in anticipation of the winter holiday season” Director of Student Affairs and event coordinator Sarah Tooke ’04 said.’
Events included a hot chocolate bar, therapy dog visits, candy canes distributed by Buddy the Wolverine, music in the hallways of Hazy, and holiday films shown in Bing 123.
“I really enjoyed the hot chocolate bar, as it gave our school time to spend together in a relaxed environment.” Jessica Lee ’29 said.
“Working on the quad during lunchtime, I was able to watch the therapy puppies on campus. I felt their visit was a much needed relaxing activity during these busy months wrapping up Semester 1. In terms of next year, I think advertising DJ Kono’s music and the movies in Saperstein are some key points. Overall, a success that students are already looking back on!” Student Council member Ayana Arteaga ’30 said.
