Christian Club held its final meeting of the school year in Hazy 228 on May 22. The meeting celebrated the club’s growth throughout the year and served as a final goodbye.
It was organized as a party including food, fun, and festivities. Students were provided with snacks including matcha cookies as they reflected on this year’s events and activities.
“It has been amazing seeing how Christian Club has grown throughout the year, from our first meeting to our last,” Christian Club co-leader Anny Du ’29 said. “For our final meeting we decided to just have some food and relax.”
Sydney Lee ’29, co-leader of Christian Club, said, “For our final meeting, we hosted a party with a screening of The Prince of Egypt, and had homemade goods provided by our leaders. It was a great time to just relax, study, or hang out with friends.”
Throughout the year, Christian Club has hosted meetings on Day 8 during club/affinity group times that regularly included food and discussions for students about identity and religion. The club also organized several events during the school year, including a Raising Cane’s fundraiser supporting the Persecution Project and a Christmas party.
“I think we’re all super proud of our efforts to increase membership this school year. I know our goal was to make Christianity more accessible to everybody, to Christians and non Christian’s alike, which I think we successfully did by hosting our fundraisers, events, and parties.” Lee said.
The final meeting marked the end of the club’s activities for the school year.
“Although I’m sad to leave the middle school I can’t wait to see what the future Christian Club leaders do next!” Du said.
Lee said, “It was very bittersweet for us current leaders, as this club has been such a big part of our 9th grade year, but we can’t wait to come back and visit to see what ways our new leaders will improve the club even more.”
