About the Contributors
Camryn Banafsheha ’27 is a first year Spectrum reporter. She enjoys interviewing people, and she truly loves to write as a part of the journalism team. She started off writing as a hobby and loves to write formally for school. She writes the weekly Wolverweek, which gives an overview of the week’s events, athletics, and some funny fails from students. Banafsheha plans on joining the Chronicle at the upper school and to continue pursuing her passion for journalism.
“I just love to write. It’s a great way for me to express myself, and I feel like it’s always been something I’ve been able to do.”
Lyla Kavanagh, Reporter
Lyla Kavanagh 26 is a first year Spectrum reporter. She is a former participant of the summer journalism program as well. Kavanagh is passionate about writing stories that impact her audience. She looks forward to exploring her love for news and opinion pieces on Spectrum this year. In addition to her writing, she hopes to contribute to the newspaper by implementing new additions, like a satire section.
“I enjoy writing, especially opinion pieces. It’s not only cathartic, but it’s interesting to see if my words can actually change someone’s mind.”
Connor Merrihew ’26 is a first year Spectrum reporter. Merrihew has been writing since 6th grade and enjoys writing feature stories about current events and sports. He focuses on sports, especially baseball and football, but is open to writing in different types of journalism. He writes both in and out of school and looks forward to furthering his news journalism experience while on Spectrum.
“I think writing really sparks passion in me, I really enjoy it.”
