Rams vs Saints, NFC Conference Championship Preview

With the Rams beating the Cowboy and the Saints coming out victorious against the eagles, the NFC Conference Championship is set. The Saints and the Rams both finished with a 13-3 regular season record, but the Saints clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a Week 9 victory over the Rams. When the two teams played back in November, there was a very different outcome then what may occur this weekend.

Back in early November when these two teams faced, it was an offensive shootout with horrible defense being played on both sides of the field. With a slight personnel change for each roster with the Rams adding running back CJ Anderson, and the increasing role of quaterback Taysom Hill, these teams are looking very different going into this weekend.

Last weekend against the Cowboys, the Rams rushed for over 250 yards, running the ball 48 times and only throwing the ball 20 times. And while the Saints did throw the ball 38 times last weekend, they only scored 20 points.

Given all of this and the way the teams have been looking over the past few weeks, I predict that this game will be dominated by the better rushing team, and therefore the Rams will win by a score of 30-27.
