By Daniel Ju ’22
Amber Kasongo joined the advancement office as the Advancement Administrator this year. In her position, Kasongo works to advance the gifts and donations that are sent to the school to better the school.
Kasongo comes from Atlanta, and was a senior accountant before she arrived early this year to fill in for Ann Lasola in the business office, who left on maternity leave. She began working in the Advancement Office early October. She said she decided to join the school because the mission statement appealed to her.
“I decided to take this position because I believe in what Harvard-Westlake is. What our mission is and what we do here at the school for our wonderful students is great, and I want to be a part of helping to further fund that position,” Kasongo said.
Kasongo travels from between both campuses to help with the advancement offices. While she is busy working at the school with funding, she also pursues her hobbies with baking, scrapbooking and soccer, which she played ever since high school.
