March is a big time of the year for the 9th grade community. The dodgeball tournament, spring break right around the corner, and of course the dance! The 2026 9th grade dance on the 13th is in full effect and the excitement could not be higher. This year’s theme is Old Hollywood and the student council along with the official dance council, students selected to help prepare for the dance, are the ones who run this show. Ninth Grade Senator Jordan Paya ’29,has no doubt that the dance will be outstanding.
“We have tons of fun activities planned, and I am certain it will be an amazing event,” Paya said.
The dance will have many fun activities including a mocktail bar, a DJ, and delicious food.
But the student council faces a major challenge, marketing the dance in a fun and persuasive way to the entire 9th grade. Over 80+ tickets have been sold, but the more tickets the better. Students can purchase tickets through their email.Deans have sent emails, and announcements are in the Daily Bulletin, but the student council needs a way to get 9th graders feeling excited about the upcoming event.
Paya said “Some of the marketing tactics that the student council is using are utilizing the assembly and class meeting times where the entire grade is together.”
“Last class meeting, we made some promo videos that I thought were a fun way to remind people about the dance and give some more info about what will be going on,” Paya said. “The more we talk about it and bring it to the people’s attention, hopefully the more people will attend,” said Paya.
With the skits at assembly and videos presented at class meetings, there is no doubt about the excitement in the air.
9th Grade Senator Oliver Beraze ’29 thinks the whole grade should come to the dance.
“It’s just gonna be an experience that every 9th grader has done. It has been such a big thing. There will be so much stuff that will happen and you will regret it if you don’t go.”
