Character Committee reps chosen

By Tanisha Gunby ’21
Ten students were selected to sit on this year’s Character Committee.
The Character Committee started in the school year of 2012-2013. Its mission is to explore what it means to be a good person and set a strong example for the community. The faculty members on the committee are world languages teacher Heath Wagerman, visual arts teacher Robin Miller and ninth grade deans Colby Plath and Betsy Ilg.
According to Wagerman, the Character Committee aims for teachers and students to work together in fulfilling the club’s goal.
“[The Character Committee is made of] teachers and students together trying to pass on a positive message and to provide a good example and to help us all learn how to be better, stronger people,” Wagerman said.
The student applications involved filling out a Google form in which they stated what they wanted to contribute to the Character Committee. They also needed a sponsorship from a faculty member.
Students said they are excited to be part of Character Committee.
“I look forward to helping improve our community and also being a role model for others,” Naalah Cohen ’23 said.
