Middle school students gathered for a Halloween-themed Movie Night on Oct. 28. There was a wide variety of Halloween activities for attendees to participate in, including pumpkin carving, dodgeball and table tennis.
“Movie Night was particularly exciting because we had multiple activities that we have never done before, like a scavenger hunt, pumpkin carving and dodgeball,” Student Council member Michael Lehrhoff ‘20 said.
This was the first time that a Halloween-themed Movie Night had taken place. This was also the first time any horror movie was chosen to be shown at a Movie Night. Prior to the start of the movie, students were able to experience the “Hallway of Terror,” where students were scared by volunteers who wore scary masks in the hallway outside the Saperstein Theatre. Movie night offered pumpkin carving and decorating, with many of the pumpkins placed around the school for decoration. Students also had the chance to play dodgeball. At 7 p.m., attendees watched “The Sixth Sense” in the Saperstein Theatre.
“I liked movie night because I got to see people jump out of their seats,” Joey Schoenberg ‘22 said.
According to Student Council, more than 200 people attended the event.
Students had the option to pre-order buy a Freebirds burrito box to eat before the movie started.
“Movie Night was a great experience because I got to hang out with my friends and watch a fun movie,” Namlhun Jachung ‘20 said.
