Leticia Ruiz (P’27)

Valentina Hernandez Ruiz ’27 is a member of the middle school fencing team. She is returning for her second consecutive year this fall. Hernandez Ruiz’s fencing experience prior to becoming a Wolverine inspired her to join the HW team in 7th grade. Since then, she has qualified for Fencing Junior Nationals, which was an exciting and rewarding experience for her. Hernandez Ruiz looks forward to accomplishing this title in the 2022-23 school year as well.

“It’s an interesting sport,” Hernandez Ruiz said. “It combines both your physical and mental abilities, and you have to think quick on your feet.”

She hopes to continue her fencing journey, as she believes it can open many doors for opportunity and success in her future.
