The Varsity Girls Water Polo team defeated Marymount High School on January 6th.
With a win of 12-5, the Wolverines maintained control throughout the match. Players Nola Napalitano ’29, Emma Gonzalez ’29, and Emiko Edwards ’29 are on the varsity team as freshmen.
“I feel like our team had a lot of communication during this game, and that’s why we were able to work together so well,” Gonzalez said.
Edwards is a key field player, contributing to both offense and defense coverage during the game.
“It was really exciting for me because it was the first time that I started in a Varsity game,” Edwards said. “I also think that it was a good opportunity for our team because everyone got to play and improve together.”
Gonzalez played a key role in the win, recording nine blocks and limiting Marymount’s scoring opportunities.
“Water polo has always been fun, but winning makes it ten times more enjoyable,” Gonzalez said.
The team had been very successful through the season, with 12 wins to 6 losses.
