MS held its annual Field Day on Wednesday, turning all three WIN blocks into a day full of energy, competition, and school spirit through Jacobson Cup events.
Students were split randomly into four houses: Polecats (green), Otters (purple), Badgers (orange), and Ferrets (yellow). Students, faculty, and staff showed up in their house colors and took part in activities across campus, all competing to earn points while also building community and having fun. The Jacobson Cup is mainly a sports competition, most commonly known as a final tournament held at camps where teams compete against each other.
On the field, students competed in events like the obstacle course, human foosball, and human billiards. The bounce house basketball and volleyball games were especially popular, with teams going head-to-head in fast-paced 2-on-2 matchups. Classic events like the three-legged race and potato sack races also gave students chances to contribute points to their house.
“It was lots of fun to see everyone playing different games and bonding with their friends,” Nico Noble ’29 said. “It gave me time to have some fun and take a break from doing work.”
Noble’s experience reflected what many students felt throughout the day, as Field Day gave students a chance to step away from their normal routines and focus on connecting with others. Whether competing or just watching, students were able to relax, support their houses, and enjoy time with friends.
Not everything was about winning. In the commons, students relaxed with bubbles and chalk drawings, adding to the day’s overall fun and laid-back atmosphere. The mix of competitive events and casual activities helped make Field Day enjoyable for everyone, no matter how they chose to participate.
