January 7 was the face off between JV girls soccer and Chaminande. The first half quickly started off with a corner kick from Hendrix Bridgett ’28 to a goal by Zamina Shah ’28 #27. The team displayed great chemistry with this play kicking off the first half.
As the game continued on there were more amazing moments from the freshmen. Emma Floyd ’29 #50 passed to Shiloh Chang ’29 #36, dodging a defender then scoring off her non-dominant left foot. The team erupted in cheer for Shiloh as she and other teammates hit their celebration dance.
“In the first half I felt the team was connecting our passes really well, and had possession of the ball a lot, we had some great protection. It was almost like a one sided game” Said Chang.
The second half continued on with some great movement from HW.
“ We were attacking them the whole time and I think we really overcame their defense. We were being super aggressive” Said Chang
That aggression showed on the scoreboard and in the energy on the field, as HW controlled the pace for most of the match and never let Chaminade get up. With strong leadership from the freshmen and constant pressure on offense, the team finished the game confidently, making this a nice 2-0 win for the JV girls.
