Holi was celebrated by students on March 19th during break by throwing various colored powders at each other.
Holi is a Hindu festival that marks the beginning of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Holi is usually celebrated in March, on the last full moon in the lunar month of Phalguna.
This celebration was organized and carried out by the South Asian Student Alliance (SASA) leaders who provided the colored powder and ponchos.
“It was a joyous celebration,” SASA leader, Zamina Shah ‘28, said and most of the student body opted to partake in the festivities.
“I like to celebrate my south asian culture and share traditions with the Harvard-Westlake community,”. Diya Desai ‘28 said. “Seeing my friends having so much fun made me feel like my culture was being represented.”
