Wildcard Weekend:
Eagles (6) vs. Bears (3)
This year’s playoffs is already off to a bang with explosive matchups occurring last weekend on a weekend conveniently coined Wildcard Weekend. The Chicago Bears faced off against the underdogs, the Philadelphia Eagles. In an almost miracle of an ending, the Eagles beat the Bears 16-15. The game climaxed with a missed field goal by Bears kicker Cody Parkey in the final seconds of the game, eliminating the Bears from the playoffs.
Seahawks (5) vs. Cowboys (4)
Winner: Cowboys
With a final score of 22-24 the Cowboys slightly edged out the Seahawks in their wildcard game. Dallas’s defense really stepped up as well as running back Ezekiel Elliott who ran for 137 yards. The Cowboys really have improved since the beginning of the season and look like they might be able to succeed further down the playoffs.
Winner: Cowboys
Texans (3) vs. Colts (6)
Winner: Colts
The Colts defeated the Texans by a score of 21-7. This matchup proves that the Colts are a force to be reckoned with in the AFC, and we should look for them as a potential contender to go far into the playoffs.
Chargers (5) vs. Ravens (4)
Winner: Chargers
Another matchup of the weekend was the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers beat the Ravens 23-17. Even without star running back Melvin Gordon, the Chargers still looked dominant over an explosive Ravens defense.
Divisional Round:
Rams (2) vs. Cowboys (4)
Winner: Rams
Given the Rams superiority throughout the season and the very fact that the Cowboys did not look as sharp in Wildcard Weekend, we can expect a blowout victory for the Rams.
Saints (1) vs. Eagles (6)
Winner: Saints
The Saints coming in as the first seed in the playoffs, look to maintain their reputation against an Eagles team that has a .5 percent of making it to the Super Bowl. We expect the Saints to emerge victorious because of their superior offensive line.
Colts (6) vs. Chiefs (1)
Winner: Colts
While earlier in the season the Chiefs were highly favored over the Colts, we believe the colts will win this game as against the Texans they played extremely well. This team is getting hot at
Chargers (5) vs. Patriots (2)
Winner: Chargers
This game will be one of the most entertaining games of the playoffs. Two great quarterbacks, Philip Rivers and Tom Brady, go up against each other. The Chargers have a more well rounded team overall with 6th ranked offense and a 8th ranked defense, but the Patriots in the past have been lethal in the playoffs. We still see the Chargers taking this game and advancing to the conference championship game.
Conference Championship”
Saints (1) vs. Rams (2)
Winner: Saints
This will be one of the toughest games in the playoffs as two of the teams with the highest record in the regular season will be battling it out for the top spot. While the Rams have a star-studded roster, we believe the Saints will prevail as in quarterback comparison, veteran Drew Brees is likely to perform better than Jared Goff, a 3rd year back.
Colts (6) vs. Chargers (5)
Winner: Chargers
The Colts have been a surprise to make it this far in the playoffs, but with one of the most physical offensive lines and intelligent quarterback Andrew Luck it is obvious to see how the Colts have been so successful. That being said Chargers have an amazing defense which we see holding off the Colt’s deadly offense, as well as starting quarterback Philip Rivers who will help lead his team against the Colts.
Super Bowl:
Chargers (5) vs. Saints (1)
Winner: Saints
The Chargers and Saints are both very impressive teams and that is why we have placed both of them in our final game, but we see the Saints edging out the Chargers in a tight game. Both teams have lethal offenses and even though Chargers have a better defense on paper, we see Drew Brees getting his first Super Bowl ring. This is due to fact that when MVP candidate Drew Brees gets into a rhythm he’ll become unstable and their is no defense that will be able to stop him.
