Riot Games Programmer Josh Glazer ’96 spoke to 35 middle school students on Dec. 5 during break about his journey from Harvard Westlake to Riot Games.
After graduating from the school, Glazer majored in computer science and engineering. He founded Naked Sky Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based video game development company, and he is currently a senior software engineer at Riot Games. The multi-billion dollar company created “League of Legends”, one of the most popular video games in the world.
Middle School Programming teacher Jessica Kaufman explained her thoughts and favorite part of the event.
“I like connecting Josh with interested students because he inspires them to carry their love of gaming into a potential career. For the last couple of years, he has visited the middle school to share his game making expertise with us,” Kaufman said.
Students said they enjoyed talking with Glazer and learned a lot from the event.
“I really enjoyed Josh’s speech and the expertise he shared with us. I have been interested in programming and video games for a long time, so his speech really resonated with me. Also, I was very impressed with his journey from Harvard-Westlake to a large video game development company,” Isaiah Jeter ’21 said.
