The JV girls soccer team earned a 2-0 win against Chaminade on January 7th, 2026 The home victory was the result of the strong overall team performance, on both offense and defense throughout the entire match.
The second goal was scored by Shiloh Chang ’29 during the second half, helping secure the team’s lead. Chang turned the ball and shot it into the bottom left corner.
“I felt very excited after my goal,” Chang said.It was a great experience to be celebrating with my whole team. As a defensive player, I don’t have many opportunities to score so it was amazing to be able to contribute to my team’s win offensively.”Throughout the match, the team maintained pressure and limited opportunities for Chaminade to score, contributing to the shutout win. The team forced multiple turnovers, preventing Chaminade’s offense from gaining momentum and allowing the team to control the pace of play.
The team worked together to prevent goals, with the back line and goalie playing strong defense. The team’s consistent communication and strategic positioning kept Chaminade off the scoreboard.
“We had a lot of communication and that really helped our team secure our win.” said Samantha Cha ’29. “We were able to recognize Chaminade’s style of play and we adjusted so that we could surpass their pressure”
As the season goes on, the team hopes to build on this performance and bring the progress with them in upcoming matches.
