Harvard-Westlake updated its bus stickers for the spring season, continuing its policy of issuing new stickers each trimester to regulate student transportation eligibility.
The stickers, distributed by the Athletics Department, ensure that only 9th grade students on athletic teams or in training teams use the athletic shuttle. The policy helps accommodate the high number of athletes in season and prevents overcrowding.
“The athletic shuttle is for athletes that are on a team or in a training class only,” Athletic Director Darlene Bible said. “It is not for students hoping to get to the high school campus earlier than the regular bus gets there,”
The seasonal bus sticker updates help ensure the shuttles remain available for students who need them most.
“I once tried to take the athletic shuttle to the upper school, but the bus driver asked for my sticker. Since I didn’t have one, I was turned away and had to take the regular bus instead,” Hannah Tabesh ’28 said.
The process of getting a sticker is simple, but enforcement remains strict to make sure space is reserved for athletes and training teams.
