Jolie Ding ’29

Jolie Ding ’29, Reporter

Jolie Ding ’29, is a dedicated student with a wide range of academic, athletic, and artistic interests. She fences for both the Harvard-Westlake fencing team and a competitive club outside of school. While balancing athletics, she also shows a strong academic focus in Pre-Calculus while only being in freshman year. After school, Jolie enjoys drawing portraits and landscapes, stating that,

“It helps calm me down, and is a good way to distract myself from the stressful school days.”

In addition, Jolie is deeply involved in music. She plays percussion and is a member of the middle school symphony; she performs on the drums. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, including her younger brother who is a 7th grader at Harvard-Westlake (Orlando Ding ’31). Jolie is fluent in two languages; a skill that has helped shape the way she expresses herself creatively. Excited to contribute to the middle school Spectrum, she said,

“I am excited to write and learn more about my school and community.”
