Oliver Rauch, 15, is a ninth-grade student-athlete. This year, he plays wide receiver, cornerback, and occasionally kicker (with a 35-yard range) on the varsity football team. He also competes in track and field, having won the 800 meters at last year’s track finals.

Beyond sports, Rauch says his best subject is math. He’s enrolled in honors geometry, which he enjoys. He notes that as an athlete, people sometimes underestimate his academic abilities.

At home, Rauch is the oldest of three. In journalism, he is working to improve his writing, particularly in note-taking and penmanship, and is excited about meeting new people.
