Outfits
Although many students went all out with their costumes, some students did a last minute Spirit Day outfit of leggings and a Harvard-Westlake t-shirt or sweatshirt. Here are some photos of some spirited students!
Pep Rally
The teachers’ undefeated streak came to an end on Friday Oct. 11, when Elliot Newman ’25 was named the winner of the 2019 Student vs. Teacher Lip Sync Battle. He had some fierce competition, including Lorenzo DeFelitta ’23, the grade eight senators, Wyatt Aubrey ’24 and Sam Pulaski ’24, and of course, the teachers. The annual spirit day pep rally was a success for Newman, as he not only won the lip sync battle but also the costume contest.
Field Activities
This year there were a variety of activities on the field during spirit day, including an inflatable obstacle course, a teacherdunk tank and a shaved ice truck.The students had many different opinions on the games. “I thought that they were meant to be fun, and some of them were, but it was a little bit too long and didn’t engage everyone,” said Aiko Offner ’23.
