On Friday, Dec. 6, the Harvard-Westlake Parents Association partnered with the Japanese-American Affinity Group (JAG) and the Jewish Family Alliance (JFA) to host the monthly faculty and staff appreciation luncheon in Bing 123. Staff Appreciation Day recognizes the individuals who make academic life at Harvard-Westlake possible.
The atmosphere was vibrant as staff enjoyed an array of traditional Jewish and Japanese dishes, along with desserts and beverages.
Before the event, JFA leader and parent volunteer Rochelle Glucksman spoke about the significance of Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day for the school’s employees.
“[Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day] shows our gratitude and appreciation for everybody at the school, not just the teachers, but also the faculty and staff and maintenance crews and security who work so hard,” Glucksman said.
Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day celebrates not only teachers but also every member of the school’s team. Teachers provide remarkable educational experiences. Deans guide students through challenges. Coaches help build character and push students to excel. Maintenance and security staff ensure a safe, seamless environment for learning. Together, they exemplify the school’s mission and values by prioritizing student well-being and fostering excellence.
