Harvard Westlake’s Venture Club is spreading holiday cheer with its annual Candy Grams, a tradition that allows students to send sweet treats and heartfelt messages to their friends. This initiative brings joy to the community and supports a meaningful cause.
Candy Grams were available for purchase during school hours. They offered a thoughtful way to connect with others during the busy holiday season through treats and notes, while also benefiting a charitable cause. Hudson Shen, the middle school Venture Club leader, said, “Students purchase Candy Grams through our form, and this year, we have raised $600 for charity, specifically I’padrini di Antonello. Candy Grams include Hershey Kisses, candy canes, and assorted candy like Nerds and gummies.”
The idea for Candy Grams came from the Venture Club’s goal of combining holiday cheer with real-world entrepreneurial experience. “Candy Grams is a great way to introduce concepts of entrepreneurship like marketing, distribution, research, and design,” Shen said. “We highly encourage students to take charge of various parts of the event, such as researching candies to buy, designing stickers and cards, and advertising and delivering them.”
