Prevention Solutions, a one-week program for ninth graders, took place from Nov. 3 to Nov. 7. Led by dean Colby Plath, the program features educators in sobriety who educate students on the risks of substance abuse.
“Students are presented with the necessary information about the risks of substance abuse,” Plath said. “This is the age when kids start getting exposed to these substances.”
Student responses to the program were mixed.
“Going in, I wasn’t expecting much,” Nick Waller ’28 said, “But in the end it was great, and I learned a lot.”
“It was overall pretty good, but I knew a lot of these things already, so some moments were boring,” William Lynch said.
“It was pretty good,” Nia Nadanarajah said. “But I would have rather been in English or Bio.”
