Head of Middle School Jon Wimbish joined the Badminton Club at break on Friday, Oct. 27.
Created by Carina Wu ‘27, Luna Yang ‘27 and Riya Iyer ‘27, the club meets every Friday in the Marshall Center gym during break
“It’s really awesome that our club has grown so much and attracted the attention of Mr. Wimbish,” Iyer said.
Sophie Lee ‘27 had the opportunity to play with Wimbish.
“He’s a really good badminton player,” Lee said. “And it’s nice to see that he’s supporting student clubs here at HW.”
The club was created as a space for students to have the opportunity to play badminton outside of the usual P.E. curriculum—but only when the nets are up. If the nets are up, the club usually sees a turnout of about 20-30 students, ranging from all grade levels, and the gym is often packed with students all vying for a court to play on.
