Venture is a club focused on entrepreneurship and business. Throughout the year, Venture hosts fundraisers, speaker events, and entrepreneurship workshops for its participants.
CoChair of MS Venture Adian Elson ’27 is optimistic about the number of people attending meetings so far.
“I’m really happy with our turnout,” Elson said. “I feel like it’s better than last year, but I think the main thing with all clubs is working on retention. What I mean by retention, is at the beginning we get a lot of kids who are just curious about the club and want to come, but the thing we need to work on is how to keep them coming to the club. What keeps them engaged, and gets them to continue to come? So at the beginning of the year, we don’t want to overwhelm them, we do a bunch of fun activities. We hold a speaker event for our first event, and overall our goal is to make sure people keep coming.”
Venture hosts many entrepreneurs throughout the year, to share their experiences and wisdom with entrepreneurship with club members. Venture participant Kate Kleeman ’27 talks about her experience with the Venture.
“My experience with venture has been very educational and fun,” Kleeman said. “My favorite part of Venture is organizing the events that Venture holds.”
Julia Thomas ’27 is another one of the four co-leaders for Venture. Thomas has plans for expanding the club.
“We are hoping to continue expanding, and continue with speaker events and potentially a field trip later this year and continue with different fundraisers and overall teach entrepreneurship,” Thomas said.
