The annual DC Trip has always been an anticipated event for 7th graders, offering all participants a memorable experience. However, this year, the history department at our school has decided to raise the bar by introducing a trip exclusively for 8th and 9th graders. This new addition will be to Normandy, France, commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Scheduled to kick off right after the school year ends in June, the Normandy trip will be a memorable trip for students. The trip will begin with a night in Paris, before traveling deeper into northern France. Most of the stay will be spent in Deauville and Bayeux. After five nights, participants will return to Los Angeles. The Normandy trip is limited to a group of just 20 students.
“The entire region will be celebrating at that time, and we will have the opportunity to explore the significant events that happened there, walking in the steps of those who sacrificed so much,” Gaskin said. “Students should expect an announcement soon about registration. I’m excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
