Dimensional Fund Advisors Global Head of Research speaks to Computer Club

Savina Rizova explains how different coding languages can be used in finance. Rizova was a guest speaker for Computer Club Tuesday at break in the programming room Hazy 221.

On Tuesday, Sept.19, the Computer Club hosted Savina Rizova, PhD, who is the Global Head of Research at the investment firm Dimensional Fund Advisors.
Rizova spoke to the club about finance, economics and how programming connects to researching these topics.

Club member Mattin Tasbihgoo ’27 said he learned a lot about how coding can be used to research a multitude of topics.

“I also learned that finance influences our daily lives more than you would think,” said Tasbihgoo.

Rizova also taught members of the club about stocks, bonds and programming languages that can be used to analyze them.

She’s also interested in HW Media’s new environmental portraits. “I want to be able to go to the classes and take environmental portraits of people in their classes and just learn more about the departments here,” she said.
