On May 18, the history office announced winners of the Geography Bee. Zack Figlin ’27 won first place, Nicholas Sue 2nd, and Elise Kennedy 3rd.
“It was a challenging competition and a hard-fought victory,” organizer Mark Nelson said.
The full field of finalists included Hal Craig, Jack Fener, Zack Figlin, Ben Fischler, Tali Gurule, Riya Iyer, Elise Kennedy, Holden Kim, Sam Krieger, Yari Milakin, Noah Ramsey, Charlie Ross-Settineri and Nicholas Sue.
The GeoBee is a geography quiz competition, where every 8th grader had the chance to win. For each classroom, there was one student that represented it to compete against the other classroom winners during an upcoming 8th grade class meeting.
“I am looking forward to the GeoBee because I enjoy learning about Geography and competing with my fellow classmates.” Ramsey said before competition began. “I take away the fact of knowing more about the world and all the different places to visit.”
