The Bachelor

The TV franchise “The Bachelor” has gained love from many fans who call themselves part of the Bachelor Nation. Reality TV has a reputation for being fake and scripted, and this is partially true of “The Bachelor.” The actual Bachelor contestant is chosen from previous Bachelorette seasons with and is typically the runner up or one of the other finalists. Throughout the season, the Bachelor takes contestants on one on one dates and group dates and slowly eliminates them until one is left, whom he normally proposes to. The final four go to Hometown dates, where the contestants show off where they grew up. Then the fantasy suite dates, where the remaining are flown to a beautiful city. The Bachelor chooses between the final two and then there is usually a “After the Final Rose” where the couple talks about their lives together. The runnerup sometimes becomes the Bachelorette. You are eliminated if you are not handed a rose at the ceremony, which has become a symbol of the franchise.

Many of the contestants are aggressive and aggravating, which is commonly seen on reality TV. Part of the fun of watching “The Bachelor” is disliking the contestants who are annoying and rooting for your favorite ones.

While on the show, the contestants live in The Bachelor mansion, which is a huge house in Los Angeles. While watching some of the many seasons, one can clearly tell that most of the girls are only there for the fame and free vacations.

When a “Bachelor contestant takes multiple prospective winners on a group date, the contestants always act in eccentric ways. For example, on one of the group dates, several contestants boxed each other, and another time, they trained dogs. It is always amusing to see how the contestants handle and act in these situations, especially when a contestant is attempting to attract attention. The producers make some contestants seem eccentric by purposely cutting the scenes to make it look like something more interesting happened. They do this because no one in real life really actually behaves the way some of the contestants do.

While some people might think “The Bachelor” is trashy, I think that’s the best part about it. Of course it is unrealistic; why would someone go on a TV show to find love? But, the personalities and characters of the contestants is what makes the show interesting.
