Studio City Mendocino Farms Review

Mendocino Farms is a sandwich and salad restaurant with locations throughout Los Angeles. Catering to many people’s preferences, Mendocino Farms has gluten free, vegan and vegetarian meal options while remaining delicious and at a reasonable price.

At $9.75, the Chicken MBP (Mozzarella, Basil, Pesto), is by far one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. As Mendocino Farms writes on their menu, the sandwich is not your typical mozzarella and basil [sandwich]. It is stuffed with chicken breast, marinated peppers, mozzarella, greens, pesto and a balsamic glaze drizzle. Although this combination of ingredients might seem strange, all the flavors act cohesively to create a sandwich that is light yet filling. The sandwich is also available to be ordered gluten free.

The avocado and quinoa superfood salad provides a full meal at $10.95. It consists of different types of greens, black beans, corns, jicama, avocado, onions, tomatoes, quinoa, cotija cheese, krunchies and a delectable vinaigrette. The salad is vegetarian and can also be made gluten free. It is well worth the almost $11, as it is filling, delicious and full of healthy ingredients.

The interior of Mendocino Farms is homey and decorated with natural, outdoor colored tones. Large windows act as walls and make what used to be a small McDonald’s a beautiful and welcoming restaurant. A large patio also offers extra seating.

The Studio City location opened in February but has already made a splash in the food scene. Studio City has many other lunch options such as Joan’s on Third and Le Pain Quotidien, but Mendocino Farms gives them a run for their money by serving high quality and delicious food.

I would advise to look for parking elsewhere, however, as finding a parking space inside of the plaza is a nightmare because Mendocino Farms shares a parking lot with Trader Joe’s, Blue Bottle Coffee, GNC, Pinkberry and many other businesses.

Overall, Mendocino Farms is a delicious restaurant that serves mouthwatering sandwiches and salads at an affordable price. Unfortunately, the parking situation is an annoyance and it occasionally outweighs the positive attributes of going to this restaurant.
