Galleria Market Review Article

Galleria Market Review Article

With restaurants closed and Postmates meals risky business because of covid-19 and higher price, the importance of selecting the best grocery store with the most unique items to bring new flavors into old dishes has never been greater.

Located on 3250 W Olympic Blvd, Galleria Market is on the second floor of a multi-story building with a large parking structure, making it incredibly convenient. Regarding crowds and lines, mid-afternoon is the best time to shop especially considering the lunchtime rush for ready-to-go meals.

Here are four budget-friendly meal plans based upon Galleria supermarket items, bringing Korean flavors to your home. Each meal can feed two to four people and has a price range of about $2 per person.

The first featured meal consists of soft tofu, mapo tofu sauce, green onions, and rice. The total price is $4.20 with a $2.10 per person cost for two people. It has a mild spice with a soft texture. To prepare this dish, slice tofu and put sauce and tofu in a frying pan on low heat for 20 minutes. Add green onions at the end and serve on top of warm rice.

The second meal consists of Marinated beef Ribeye, Cabbage Kimchi, and rice. The total price is $9.33 with $2.30 per person feeding four people. The beef is very flavorful and tender and it projects that flavor onto the rice. The cabbage kimchi is also a refreshing side. To prepare this dish, pan-fry beef ribeye on medium-high heat for nearly 6-9 minutes and serve on top of warm rice with cabbage kimchi on the side.

To make the third meal, you need rice cake, TTeobokki sauce, and green onions. In total, this dish costs $6.33 and feeds three people for $2.11 per person. The saucy rice cakes are chewy and absorb the spicy TTeobokki sauce. To make this, put rice sticks into cold water for 10 minutes, drain the water, and move to a medium-size saucepan. Then add TTeokbokki sauce and green onion (plus any vegetables of choice) and slowly griddle on medium heat.

The fourth and last meal is made with Marinated Chicken, Seasoned Cucumber, and rice. The total price is $7.60 feeding four people at $1.90 per person. This flavorful chicken is very tender and juicy. The seasoned cucumber gives a good crunch to go with. To make this, bake chicken at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Serve on top of warm rice with seasoned cucumber on the side.
