Uncle Bill’s serves great views, meals

Located less than a mile away from Manhattan Beach’s eponymous shores, Uncle Bill’s Pancake House is a classic breakfast establishment that has stood the test of time. Built out of a former beach house and barbershop, Uncle Bill’s has been one of the most iconic eateries in South Bay since 1961. Its location in Manhattan Beach makes it a hotspot for surfers, bikers and runners, but everyone is welcome to enjoy its flavorful meals.

At the restaurant, one as the option of either sitting inside or outside, but on the frequent warm and sunny days that Manhattan Beach has to offer, it would be wise to sit outdoors. The patio’s view of both the clear blue skies and the shining Pacific Ocean is one of the most relaxing and recognizable scenes of Southern California.

There’s a reason Uncle Bill’s has lasted for so long, and for over almost 60 years, they have served some of the most delectable pancakes in the whole country. There are over 12 different kinds of pancakes to order, such as blueberry, banana nut and chocolate chip. Each order comes in a stack of three with both a glistening drizzle of syrup and dollop of creamy butter. There are other mouthwatering options, too. Poultry-based dishes make up half the menu, and one can order everything from a simple dish of New York steak and eggs to a Hawaiian omelette with ham and pineapple. Other treats include waffles, french toast breakfast wraps and potatoes. Each of these dishes’ qualities display the hard work the kitchen staff puts into their cooking and their care for their customers.

Uncle Bill’s is a fantastic and satisfying experience for those who enjoy a good stack of pancakes and a laid-back environment in the morning. Its longevity proves its quality, and I have no doubt you will enjoy their captivating courses.

Uncle Bill’s Pancake House is open every day of the year except on Christmas and New Year’s Day, from 6 am to 3 pm on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
