The SPECTRUM

CSS Club boots up

By Frank Jiang ’21
The Computer Science Society, or the CSS club, invites all levels of programmers to come learn some coding, and is managed by cofounders, George Zhang ’21 and Jake Futterman ’21. Although the CSS club has not officially met yet, they plan on having a meeting very soon, in which students will learn how to code applications and also with friends in general.
“Being in Intro to Programming I [and moving to Programming II], I found coding extremely interesting. I was sure that plenty of other people are also interested, so I decided to create a time for us to hang out as a group,” Zhang said.
Both students in Intro to Programming I, Zhang and Futterman said that they came up with the idea on a whim since they were both very interested in exploring programming. Both said that they plan to join the Upper School’s programming club when they enter 10th grade. The CSS club meets on every Wednesday and Friday, and they plan to create a fully functioning app by the end of the year.
