Singers perform in the Winter Choral Concert, “Hine Ma Tov,” on Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. Choral director Jeremy Pease conducted the vocalists along with accompanist Chris Wong. Five groups, separate and combined sang a variety of holiday seasonal songs. Flute player Frances Ross ’22 and percussionist Gabe Yaron ’22 also performed in numerous songs.
“It’s a variety of music celebrating both the season, winter and the holidays occurring in December. This reflects the diverse religious and nonreligious background of our school community,” Pease says.
In total, 20 songs were performed, and each ensemble performed about two or three songs.
The name of the concert has special meaning in the Hebrew language as well.
“The title of our concert is ‘Hine Ma Tov,’ which is a song about joining together and living in harmony,” Pease said.
Members of the choir seemed to enjoy the event.
“I thought that the concert was so fun, and it was so rewarding to see all of us make beautiful music as a choir and it was just such a nice experience and perfect start to the holidays with everyone,” Madrigals member Alexandra du Manoir said.
Audience members said they appreciated the show.
“I thought the concert was fantastic, some really gorgeous singing. I thought that Mr. Pease did an amazing job,” French teacher Jennifer Lechevallier ’98 said.
