Boxing Club sells kettle corn

Members of the HW Boxing Club sold bags of kettle corn to students and faculty all day on Tuesday. The sale’s purpose was to raise money to support the nonprofit organization, LA Family Housing, in their mission to provide aid to the homeless. Club members discussed their thoughts about their role in the fundraiser.

“It feels so satisfying being able to give back to my community and to help people in need,” Sterling Kim ‘21 said.

According to a recent study by the Los Angeles Times, homelessness has risen to 23 percent of the current Los Angeles population

Students who purchased popcorn spoke about the impact their contributions made.

“I feel as though helping others and reaching out to those in need makes me feel complete as a person,” Roan Yeh ‘21 said.
