Ivy Bunnak joined the advancement team as Assistant Director of Alumni Relations in November. She organizes alumni events such as receptions, reunion days and affinity groups activities.
Bunnak graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles in 1995, and then worked in marketing at Wells Fargo. For the last seven years, she worked as a consultant in business as well as on a few production projects. Bunnak also had an online clothing business, which she sold in 2013. She said that she looks forward to her career at the Middle School.
“It was really fitting. I saw [the opportunity], and my career background has been events and project management. This job just screamed it. It’s been a great transition since it is literally everything that I love to do,” Bunnak said.
She said that she feels the warmth of the school community, which makes it seem like a family.
“I am really excited … It’s been really nice. I have known about the school and been around, but feeling the warmth of everybody here [feels like] family,” Bunnak said.
Bunnak said she has a deep connection with the alumni community because her husband graduated from the Harvard School in 1991. She said that she had always been thinking of reconnecting with the school.
In her personal life Bunnak has two children, Connor and Collin, who are currently in fifth and second grade, respectively, at Curtis Elementary School. She said her family loves sports and she is a fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors.  Bunnak said she also enjoys music and dance.
Bunnak’s colleagues said they are happy to have her join the advancement team.
“We are very excited to have her on the team. She comes with relevant experience for what she is going to do for us, which is to run a lot of our alumni events and manage our affinity groups,” Director of Advancement David Lee said.
