Musicians in the Middle School Jazz Band performed in the lobby of the Bing Performing Arts Center before the choral concert on Dec. 17. The band played “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)” by Nat King Cole. After the big band performed, the Jazz Explorer Combo, consisting of trumpeter Ryan Wixen ’19, pianist Lucas Lyons ’19, bassist Will Toth ’19, guitarist Otis Gordon ’20 and drummer Andy Lee ’20, played three songs including “Jingle Bell Rock.”
“It was fun because it was exciting to see the new students in jazz blend to make amazing sound,” trumpet player Jacob Lapin ’19 said.
